Synopsis:

Primary-school readers are choosy. Lose them on the first page and they may toss a book aside, never reaching the core of your brilliant novel. What are the secrets to keeping a reader's interest? Peter Lerangis, author of nine New York Timesbestsellers, including the Seven Wonders and the 39 Clues series, will lead a workshop about word choice, pacing, tone, voice, humour, plotting, and the importance of unanswered questions.

Participants should submit either a finished novel or the first three chapters of a novel-in-progress with a synopsis of the full plot. First chapters will be read aloud, discussed, and as time permits, revised.
