Synopsis:

Jonathan Friesen's personal experience with Tourette syndrome and epilepsy was the inspiration behind his highly lauded novel, Jerk, California. Look at the world through his eyes, and understand how kindness and empathy are even more crucial in today's crisis-riven world.

Jonathan Friesen is an award-winning author, international speaker, storyteller and Professor of Education at North Central University. He is the author of eight novels, including the highly acclaimed Jerk, California, winner of the Best Book for Teens at American Library Association's 2009 Schneider Award. His young adult novels explore the pains and successes of lives lived with mental health concerns.
